Head Start Enrolling for 2023-2024 Program Year

07.26.2023 - Oneonta, New York

Opportunities for Otsego’s Head Start program is now enrolling pregnant women and children up to age five for the 2023-2024 program year.

Head Start is a no-cost, center-based preschool program that prepares three and four year old children for kindergarten. Open play and guided activities promote learning, language, physical, and social-emotional development. Caregivers are offered assistance in accessing community resources to meet personal goals and support overall family health and well-being. Head Start operates centers in Cherry Valley, Cooperstown, Morris, Oneonta, Richfield Springs, Schenevus, and Unadilla.

Early Head Start promotes learning, development, health, and the well-being of children and families prenatally up to age three. Home visitors support families during pregnancy and after the birth of a child by sharing information on child development, activity ideas for parents and children, and coordinating social events to support peer relationships. Caregivers are also assisted in accessing community resources as needed. Home visiting is available throughout Otsego County.
