The Building Healthy Families Team is a friendly and fun-loving group of highly trained home visitors who support the agency’s mission with commitment, compassion, and creativity. Nurturing parents as they welcome babies and raise young children, Building Healthy Families recognizes it matters less where one begins a parenting experience than how they enjoy the journey along the way.
Led by a Program Manager and Team Leader with more than forty-two years of collective home visiting experience, staff brings an array of skills and expertise to family homes. In addition to certification in evidence-based child and family development curricula, Resource and Support Specialists have practiced in the field of early childhood and elementary education, hold Lactation Counselor certification, have experience serving youth with disabilities, and carry a host of customer service skills.
Perhaps best known in the area for their Annual Community Baby Shower, staff contribute to a number of community task force committees, including the Mothers and Babies Perinatal Network, the Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council, the Otsego Council on Human Services, the Committee on Child Abuse and Neglect, and the Alcohol and Other Drugs Task Force.
