Violence Intervention Program (VIP)
Crisis Intervention and Support Services is a department of Opportunities for Otsego that encompasses the Violence Intervention Program. The department strives to intervene when individuals or families are in crisis and provide short-term services to meet their immediate needs and help identify long-terms goals.

- VIP has a 24-hour hotline, staffed by trained Crisis Intervention Specialists. The hotline is available for anyone with questions regarding general information & services, or just needing some one to talk to about the situation.
Counseling- VIP provides individual, group, and family counseling for both primary and secondary victims of Domestic Violence. If you are interested in counseling, please call (607) 433-8038 during normal business hours to schedule an intake appointment. Support groups are also available.
- VIP can assist victims of Domestic Violence in navigating both Family and Criminal Court proceedings. We also provide accompaniment to various community agencies, general advocacy, legal advice* and assistance with petitions & forms including Orders of Protection & Crime Victims Board Claims. - VIP provides a safe-haven for persons fleeing violent situations. The house is staffed 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. We offer all the comforts of home including cooking facilities, clean linens, laundry facilities, private rooms, and much more. If you need safe housing please call our 24- hour hotline. VIP can arrange for transportation to the safe house if needed.
