The Children's Center

Dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and families through

programs that promote growth and development.

The Children's Center is provided as a special place for children at the Otsego County Office Building.  This drop-in

child care program serves children six weeks to eight years old, (8-12 year olds by special arrangement) who must be in

court or the Department of Social Services for matters involving them or their caregivers.

Guidelines for the Center:

1.  The Children's Center is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

2.  The Children's Center is open to children whose caregivers are scheduled to appear in Family Court or have an appointment for services.

3.  No child(ren) can use the Children's Center for more than three hours at a time on any given day unless prior arrangements have been made.

4.  The caregiver must sign the child(ren) in and complete the required forms before leaving the child(ren) at the Center.

5.  If the Children's Center is at capacity, the caregiver can place the child(ren)'s name on a waiting list.  The caregiver must also state where they can be found when an opening occurs.

 

 

 


  • Qualified staff supervise the children while they attend the Center. 

  • Children participate in a weekly planned curriculum highlighting: creative arts, music , science, water table, blocks and table activities. 

  • Snacks are provided for the children

  • Referrals can be made through the Children's Center to Head Start, Early Head Start, Building Healthy Families, WIC and support services at Opportunities For Otsego, Inc. and other human service providers.
