OFO is offering the following workshops to help households save money.  Workshops are open to the general public and are free of charge. Each workshop offers great information, a light snack/meal, and take-home “tools” to apply lessons learned at home. To register for any workshop, call 607.433.8000 or 800.986.5463.

“Budgeting” presented by Consumer Credit Counseling ServicesA balanced budget will make living a lot less stressful. Learn the ABC's of managing your money and how to develop a spending/saving plan that will work for you. 

 

“Save Big, Win Big” Energy Conservation Workshop: Receive great information on how to improve your home’s energy efficiency and develop a Home Energy Savings Plan. Bring in a current copy of your utility bill (the page with the graph) and be entered into the Save Big, Win Big challenge. All participants go home with a do-it-yourself home energy conservation kit.  Scheduled every 2nd & 3rd Thursday in Oneonta.

 

“Surviving a Money Crunch” presented by Consumer Credit Counseling ServicesThis workshop is designed for anyone facing a financial crisis such as a loss of income or major unexpected expense. Participants learn how to prioritize their obligations and gain control of the situation. Scheduled for August 18th in Oneonta.
 
“Unraveling the Mysteries of Credit Reports” presented by Consumer Credit Counseling ServicesBecause we live in a credit-driven society, it is important for each of us to understand our personal credit report, how to manage it, and its effect on the credit process. Also covered in this presentation is information on Identity Theft, how to protect yourself, and what to do if you have been a victim of ID Theft.
