Early Childhood Services

Early Head Start

Early Head Start is a community-based program for low-income families with infants and toddlers and pregnant women. The program promotes healthy prenatal outcomes, enhances child development, and promotes healthy family functioning. Families involved with Early Head Start are offered services until their child enters Head Start.



Services offered by Early Head Start:

  • Weekly home visits
  • Coordination of health, dental, and developmental services
  • Parent education and child development information
  • Socializations/Parent groups
  • Center-based early childhood services for children 6 weeks to 3 years old

Locations:
  • Program Office: 256 River Street, Oneonta
  • Center-Based Services: 258 River Street, Oneonta
  • Home Visiting: Throughout Otsego County

Hours of Operation:
  • Program Office: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Center-Based Services: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday

Fees for Service:
  • Home Visiting: None
  • Center-Based Care: None
